Summer is here and, as with hair and fashion, you want a strikingly cool manicure — be it intricate nail art or solid colors — but definitely not one that screams last season. Here are some of the latest nail trends hot off the runways that are sure to be a hit.
A perfect accompaniment to the fresh-faced makeup trends prevalent at many runways from Milan to New York, clear nail polish on clean nails continued the understated look.
When we mean solid or one coat, we don’t mean the cohesive shade from last year. 2017 ushers in every nail sporting its own color whether solid or with a hint of rainbow.
Bright hues are looking more chic than ever as nails take on major pops of color this summer — from watermelon reds, to bold blues, and tangerine orange.
While bright hues are in, so are candy-hued ones if that’s more up your street. Create the looks with fresh pastel shades from soft and pink to almost-nude apricot. This also fits the runway trend of applying rosy-shaded lipstick to the cheeks instead of blush for a pretty and natural summer flush.
Embrace your dark side with Vampish nails. Colors strutted on models’ hands ranged from navy to brown, deep reds, and black. Dark shades also suit every skin tone and every nail shape and length.
Nail art was a clear, creative and fun trend with models sporting manicures with geometric shapes like squares, circles or achromatic designs on a single finger or on each nail.
We’re not suggesting becoming a Metallica fan, we’re suggesting metallic nail colors in super shining gold to holographic silver that were a major hit at the shows.
There are some of us that just can’t get away from French manicures, but try a new-take for the season by tipping nails with alternating colors or metallic finishes instead of the traditional white.
Gucci’s nails can only be described as extreme hand bling. Models went wafting down the catwalk bedecked not just in unique hair (uber long plaits, pearl balaclavas, and golden vine leaves in their hair), but with bands of gold with starburst covering the backs of their hands and nails dipped in ink dripping with bling. If that dubious biro leaks ink all over your hands again, go with it!
